Cooking for friends

We’ve been using a few of your recipes with great success. Easy, affordable, healthy and fun to make. My girlfriends and I have made a supper club to keep us in touch with each other. Please keep adding new ones.
–Vera Abede, Toronto, ON

Editor’s note: Eating together is a great way to keep in touch and make sure you are preparing healthy meals. More recipes at: caregiversolutions.ca/category/recipes.

Celebrities who help

It’s always impressive to see famous people giving back and making a difference where they can. Recent donations to help out food banks and hurricane relief by Taylor Swift, for instance, warmed my heart.
–Jan Woolinski, Cardstone, AB

Editor’s note: How right you are. Taylor has been particularly generous this past year during her Eras Tour and has made a number of kids feel very special with visits and things she’s done. Cudo’s!

Waiting too long

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but it seems post-pandemic doctor’s offices are busier than ever. Surely this is not a sign of the times. Thanks for magazines by the way. We both read them.
–Chris Mahone, Prince Albert, SK

Editor’s note: Hopefully the current wait times can improve—right now referals between family doctors to treatment is 27 weeks—the longest times on record.

Giving up his seat

Amazing. I was on the bus on the way to care for my friend and a young man actually got up for me. Both my friend and I agreed that’s quite unusual these days. Perhaps you could write an article about “long lost manners”—we’d all enjoy it.
–Suzie Shabon, Halifax, NS

Editor’s note: Good idea! According to one tech researcher, new generations using tech have lost their ability to interact with others. And, others report “ladies first” is on its way out.
