Women shortchanged 

Medical research has long ignored older woman in research and clinical trials. Many drugs widely prescribed to older adults, including statins for high cholesterol, were studied mostly in men without consideration for women’s biology and menopausal impacts. That’s changing now with noted differences. A recent Alzheimer’s drug trial showed a 43% symptom slowdown in men while women experienced 12% slowdown.

Kindness and weight loss

High calorie food is usually tempting and losing weight difficult. Now, a study from Drexel University suggests that practicing self-compassion can help people cope with their lack of willpower and setbacks as well as self-defeating thoughts and feelings. Researchers say speaking kindly not critically to themselves, helps people positively move forward and achieve new goals without guilt and negative self-blame.

The first step in a sneeze is to expel a gush of air that pushes through our vocal cords that creates the sound. For some this is louder than others Societal norms and cultures also play a role.
