Tai Chi
“I never really knew that much about Tai Chi until I read your article about Adaptive Tai Chi. I tend to get really stiff in cold weather, so I think I’ll give it a try. I found a local church group that practices in my neighbourhood.”
Ann R., Delta, BC
Editor’s note: That’s great! Exercising regularly is so important no matter your age, and tai chi is one of many ways you can stay active. Walking, water aerobics, cycling, and seated yoga are also recommended for some. Just 30 minutes a day can help you keep your body and mind healthy.
Sibling Caregivers
“My sisters and I all pitch in to take care of our parents. Your article on sharing responsibilities between siblings really helped us at a difficult time when we needed to readjust our duties and care plan. We were getting along before, but the tips in the article were great to have on hand.”
Dona Brots, Cobourg, ON
Editor’s note: The need to regroup is quite common when siblings care for aging parents. It’s wonderful to hear you and your sisters have figured out what works best for you without conflict.
Praise Indeed
“I love what you guys are doing! There is a whole group of people who are dedicated to helping others with disabilities. The work can be hard, exhausting and sometimes dangerous. We need to show these folks some recognition. Show them that they are seen, heard and appreciated. Your awards do just that.”
Amber Andrews, Tees, AB
