Education influences longevity
Studies show mortality rates are lower for people with higher education levels. While it varies by county, on average experts suggest that men with less education have 54% higher mortality rate and women a 29% higher mortality rate. In Canada about half of the shorter life expectancy in the lowest education group is tied is tied to people under 45. Leading causes: accidents, cancer, suicide, heart disease and violence (homicide).
Poison risk for pets
Veterinary toxicologists warns that many household cleaning products contain toxic phenols. Eyes, tongues, skin, or exposed paws can irritate or burn a furry friend. The good news: It’s the concentration that really matters but caution is needed. Also of note: exotic pets like birds are vulnerable to airborne particles given off by aerosols and spritzed areas. A good rule of thumb. If you can smell it, keep pets away.

Having a sleep divorce?
Coined as a phrase to refer to couples deciding to sleep in separate beds or even different rooms, its estimated that about 1/3 of couples sleep alone now. Different schedules, managing sleep disorders like apnea and restless leg syndrome along with mattress preferences and of course, noisy snoring and teeth grinding are cited as reasons. Proponents actually claim it strengthens their marriage and helps them get a better, more healthy sleep.
