Dodgy calls and fake emails

Canadians lost a record 567M to fraud in 2023 yet only 10% of victims reporting their loss. You’ve got to have your wits about you these days as scams involving your personal information and finances are on the rise. Here’s some wise advice:
• Don’t click on links or odd calls 
• Change passwords regularly
• Slow down and don’t be pushed into hurried decisions
• Don’t pre-pay or send deposits to new companies or individuals
• Ask someone you trust before signing up for things or sending funds
• Beware of deals that look too good to be true
• Report anything suspicious.

Heart Health

Listed as the biggest risk for ladies in their ‘60’s, heart disease is now the leading cause of death in women. To reduce your risks:
1) Manage hypertension
2) Have annual wellness exams
3) Stay physically and mentally active
4) Get adequate sleep
5) Avoid alcohol

And, watch for shortness of breath accompanying chest pain, back pain and fatigue. If you see any of these symptoms call 911 right away.

Rest up

Good sleep habits are important so be sure to shut of all electronics an hour before bed, skip your afternoon caffeine fix and invest in black out curtains.
