Say good-bye to plastic packaging
By taking hair, blood and breast milk samples, Swiss scientists have discovered that more than 25% of the 14,000 chemicals used to wrap up our food are finding their way in the human body. And, sadly recycled papers, cardboards and inks are worst culprits for leakage, especially when heated. Calling for better testing of food packaging and the introduction of world-wide food regulation, Recommendations:
• Avoid heat. Any kind of packaged food or takeout containers shouldn’t be microwaved
• Try to buy loose produce rather than items that are bagged or wrapped
• Tightly wrapped or shrink-wrapped products leach chemicals more easily
• Unwrap products once you get home to mitigate further leakage.

Kick start your day
Boost your mood by taking a brief walk or a morning stretch to loosen your muscles, increase blood flow and release endorphins. You’ll also benefit from the fresh air and natural light which is said to enhance energy, and mental clarity.

Let them eat pineapples
While pineapples can be refreshing, they are often overlooked for their ability to boost the immune system, aid digestion and provide manganese which, when paired with protein can support healthy blood sugar levels. Also good for hydration, they’re rich in Vitamin C, and antioxidants which can help fight inflammation, ½ cup of this low-calorie fruit has just 41 calories and 11 grams of carbohydrates. Chef suggestions: Add sliced pineapple to smoothies and yogurt or grill it to put on top of fish or chicken.
