Tips to make caregiving a little bit easier

To improve your caregiving stamina you’ll need to find ways to build both you physical and emotional health so that you can make things happen in the best way possible.

Think positive.
Never underestimate the power of a positive outlook. You’ll find that the determination to triumph over daily challenges will take a glass half-full approach.

Set goals.
Be kind to yourself and realistic about what needs to be done and what you can manage. Add clear communication to the formula and you’ll be in much better shape.

Watch what you eat.
Respect your body by eating three balanced meals a day that give you five servings of fruit and vegetables and plenty of water.

Sneak in exercise.
Prioritize even a quick walk, an on-line yoga class or some stretching.

Ask for help.
Even if it’s just sharing visiting times, arranging for respite from a local nursing agency or getting other family members to help with meals or financial management. It’s always better to opt for a team approach.
